Health Care Passes
Monday, March 22nd, 2010Time for Dick Clark to Hang It Up
Monday, January 4th, 2010Nothing against the ageless one, but it is time for him to step down from public broadcasting.
I checked in on the former Bandstand guru a few minutes after midnight. Frankly, it was painful to watch. While the recovery from his stroke has been remarkable, watching him try to enunciate unsuccessfully made me want to change the channel immediately. I can’t imagine that anyone else watching was equally disturbed.
We’ve loved Dick’s Rockin’ New Years Eve for years, but there isn’t a need for him to be on the air himself any more.
Awesome Programming Sponsorship, Volvo
Tuesday, November 18th, 2008Who could ask for a better ad placement. I want to go buy a Volvo right now.
Here’s the short version:
And the long one, in real time, for dramatic effect.
Obama Wins!
Wednesday, November 5th, 2008Nothing more to say. What a moment.
Awesome Camera Work, MSNBC
Friday, October 17th, 2008This fantastic camera work definitely highlighted the seriousness of Rachel Maddow’s top story tonight on MSNBC.
Keith Olbermann Rant
Wednesday, September 10th, 2008MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann flat out rips into the republicans on the eve of 9/11.
MSNBC Great On Politics…..Most of the Time
Friday, September 5th, 2008Hughley and Ventura Call RNC Nazis on Larry King
Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008Both of them mention “nazis” as part of their post-convention interviews with larry king.
Drinking on the Job in Gustav Effort
Monday, September 1st, 2008I caught this little gem on MSNBC. They were reporting on the efforts to reinforce one of the levees that was about to breach. I guess the folks on site felt like it was under control.
When you’ve just stopped a levee from breaching, saving hundreds of homes, its Miller Time. (Ok, its a bud light, but you get it.)
Awesome Freudian Slip
Saturday, August 23rd, 2008Couldn’t help but laugh when Obama said this……
I’m a Biden guy, so it was music to my ears.
Greatest 6 Minutes of Red Sox Baseball
Sunday, April 22nd, 2007Simply unreal. No matter what else happens for the rest of the game, this was the most fun any Red Sox fan could possibly have without a World Series Ring. Boston strings together their own home run derby, hitting four home runs in a row.
Ed Note: Sorry folks, but we were asked to remove the clips and are going to comply 100%. Our apologies to MLB and ESPN.
Caught this Tucker snippet the other night
Thursday, April 5th, 2007Nice, Tucker. Nice. And the vast majority of the American people love you, too.
Hardball’s Shuster Hits Puberty
Saturday, March 24th, 2007Bummer for Shuster when his voice cracks in the middle of this report on global warming.
Prince at the Superbowl – The Smoking Gun dishes
Sunday, March 11th, 2007The Smoking Gun published some of the complaints to the FCC regarding Prince’s halftime performance at the SuperBowl. Frankly, I’m just bored with this. I just don’t think that 150 complaints is even worth blinking about when you consider that more than 90 million people tuned in.
I can see how some gestures could be misinterpreted and twisted into some kind of right-wing artillery, but give me a break. How many people complained two years during Gretchen Wilson’s performance.
Fox News: Nice Job
Saturday, March 10th, 2007Been sitting on this beauty for a while. Fox News misidentifies someone in this story on intelligent design. Doesn’t matter to me who the “real” Sheree Hied is. It’s enough that Fox News didn’t know either. I sure hope Keith Olbermann is still reading The Sofa.
